Perfectly Pitched is a series of free accessible lunchtime concerts held at The Grove Church, Town St, Horsforth, organised by volunteers; in 2026 there were 4 concerts between February and June, held on various dates but always on a Thursday at 1pm, doors open at noon for a cuppa and cake.

Here’s what one attendee had to say about the concerts:

Fantastic series of free lunchtime concerts in Horsforth (donations can be left). These offer a varied programme with an excellent level of musicianship. I thoroughly recommend, if you can get to one. Thank you to Deborah for creating the concept and making it happen! Thanks also to the team at each event. Wonderful!

Deborah Pennington, a local musician who runs Musical Moments sessions in the area, had the idea a few years ago to make classical and other music more accessible to people in Horsforth, especially those who might not get to concerts in town. She says:

“There are so many amazing musicians right on our doorstep, some have international careers, and I am so humbled that they are more than happy to perform in a Perfectly Pitched concert. My vision is for these concerts to be completely accessible. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of local businesses such as Dudleys, Tudor International and Jordans Solicitors who have sponsored concerts for several years, and grants from organisations such as Horsforth Town Council and the Farmers Market, I have been able to fulfil this vision. The concerts run smoothly thanks to a team of volunteers and the support of Horsforth Churches Together is invaluable. Perfectly Pitched is going from strength to strength, audience numbers are growing and after each concert everyone leaves with a big smile on their face. Thank you to all those who make Perfectly Pitched possible.”

In 2026 there were 4 concerts, dates as follows:

  • 12th Feb: Prince Bishops Brass Quintet
  • 12th March: Deborah Pennington, clarinet and Chris Pulleyn, piano
  • 14th May: Samuel Moore, flamenco guitar
  • 11th June: Alex Woodrow, organ and Alison Major, violin.

You can follow them on their Facebook page for updates, or check the upcoming events page for more details of the next concert. You can also look out for the banner on the railings near The Grove Methodist Church or Central Methodist Church (both on Town Street) for the upcoming list of concerts nearer the time.

We are looking forward to the next series in 2027 – Come along and enjoy great music in an informal and friendly setting!
