The Grove Methodist Church was opened in 1868. It was built in the grounds of the 18th Century manor house, known as Grove House, when the existing Methodist chapel in New Street became too small. It has attractive stained glass windows and box pews and a splendid 3-manual organ with 1700 pipes. Cragg Hill Baptist Church was established in 1801 and has been sharing the life and love of Christ ever since. In the 1990’s it was adopted by South Parade Baptist Church (now renamed Cornerstone Baptist Church) and became one of its ‘gatherings’ benefiting from having a shared a ministry team.
