Lots of people enjoyed Easter Events

Hundreds of people gathered on Good Friday for our Walk of Witness down Town Street following the cross, and we were led through a moving reflection on the seven last words of Jesus by Fr Michael Doody of St Mary’s, and readers from seven different churches.

Afterwards we were hosted by The Grove Methodist for lovely soup and hot cross buns, raising an impressive £314 for Mission Aviation Fellowship.

It was busy on Easter Saturday with the Farmer’s Market falling on the Easter weekend, and St James’ buzzing with lots of families enjoying their annual Easter Egg Hunt. Children were busy running around collecting eggs and enjoying crafts, as well as the chocolate tombola and the bouncy castle:

And meeting the characters from the story such as Peter, Mary, Salome, an angel, and someone holding a palm leaf…

The Parish Hall was full of people chatting over cake and a cuppa – a great time was had by all!
