Looking for an opportunity to volunteer in Horsforth? There are lots of opportunities, but we have listed a few here – Horsforth Farmers’ Market, Horsforth Community Minibus, a new Bereavement Cafe and the Assemblies Team (Open the Book).
Some of these only need a few hours of commitment per month – take a look:

Horsforth Farmers’ Market needs 2 volunteers

HFM are looking for two people to join the team – one with a role to develop our social media presence and website, and a second more generic role building capacity within the team picking up roles from the current team members, which suit your gifts and availability.  To find out more please contact Duncan Stow on duncan@horsforthchaplaincy.org, or come along to the market to have a chat.

Horsforth Community Minibus seeks volunteer Resources Manager

A group of volunteers have taken on the Horsforth Community Minibus Fund and are looking for someone who enjoys administration and would handle bookings for the bus and potentially also bookings for hiring out our family fun day equipment.  This would only require a few hours a month. To find out more please contact Duncan Stow on duncan@horsforthchaplaincy.org

New Bereavement Cafe needs refreshment server

A new monthly Bereavement Cafe started on 11th July 2025 providing a safe space for people dealing with loss to chat over a cuppa and cake or just ‘be’, run by volunteers with experience in this area. They are seeking one more person to join the team serving drinks and cake. This could be once a month or every 2 months or so. Please contact Lynn Cowling at lynn.cowling@hotmail.com for more information.

Primary School Team seeks volunteers for Open the Book Assemblies

The Open the Book Primary team are looking for new volunteers to join their Assembly team. A flexible role with no fixed commitment, volunteer when you can. The team visits 7 schools once every half term sharing a Bible Story in a simple drama form in school assemblies, usually in the morning. All you need is enthusiasm, a love for primary school children and willingness to give it a go (no particular ‘acting’ skills required). Role requires DBS and references. Please contact Duncan on duncan@horsforthchaplaincy.org for more information.
