

Donate food items to HORSFORTH COMMUNITY PANTRY
Our local Food Pantry is always in need of food items, here is an updated list of most needed items (as of Jan 2026):
- Cleaning Products Bleach, washing up liquid, multipurpose spray, washing powder
- Toiletries Deodorant, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, sanitary towels, toothpaste
- Tinned Goods(ring pulls if possible) Corned Beef, Chicken/Beef casserole, PEK or Spam, Fray Bentos pies, Tinned Pasta, Rice Pudding, Custard
- Miscellaneous UHT milk (full fat and semi skimmed), UHT juice, Coffee, Teabags, Sugar, Tomato ketchup, Mayonnaise, Porridge, Cereals, Squash
The Pantry helps local low-income families by providing groceries valued at c.£25 for the weekly membership fee of £6. They can choose from the shelves themselves, including lots of fresh fruit and veg, all of which would have gone to waste otherwise. There is a cafe run at the same time for members to relax and socialise providing friendship and support.
DROP OFF POINTS
YOU CAN DROP OFF FOOD ITEMS at the following places and times:
- St James’ Church Office (in the Parish Centre) – Mon – Thurs 9am – 12 noon
- Some churches also have food donation collection boxes at the back of church, which you could use when they are open, like St Margarets’ Church.


Donate food, clothes, shoes to HIDDEN HOMELESS
Hidden Homeless is a Leeds wide charity with a local base – they support the homeless or those struggling in their accommodation by going out on Wednesday and Saturday night, providing a hot meal, warm clothing and friendship.
At present they are especially grateful for:
- Wrapped biscuits
- Bottles of Water
- Jar sauces
- Joggers
- Boxers
- Bags

Donate men’s clothes, trainers, backpacks to HORSFORTH TOWN OF SANCTUARY
Men seeking sanctuary in this country arrive with nothing but what they are standing up in and are sent to a local accommodation centre, having endured traumatic events and journeys to get here. Horsforth Town of Sanctuary hold a weekly conversation and support club at the centre, and clothing distribution for new arrivals every 6 weeks (as well as many other free activities such as football, trips and training) – click the button to find out more.
They are always in need of the following:
- Trainers
- New boxers (S/M sizes)
- T-shirts, hoodies and tops (S/M)
- Joggers (S/M)
- Backpacks, bags

- Horsforth Community Café at St Margaret’s – Mondays 8 am – 2.30pm
- Cragg Hill Baptist Church – Fridays 10am – 1pm.



Donate reading glasses & rosary beads for prisoners at Armley Prison
The Mothers’ Union group at St Margaret’s Church are collecting reading glasses and rosary beads for prisoners at Armley Prison, as requested by one of their speakers from the Chaplaincy there.
The Mother’s Union group at St Margaret’s meet once a month with speakers and activities with a focus on supporting families and social justice.
