In order to connect spiritually and socially with people resident in our local Care Homes, several activities are taking place at the moment, including:
- Short services held at Bedford Court and Horsforth Manor roughly every 6 weeks
- Communion once a month at Bedford Court – led by retired minister Brian Lipscombe
- People who volunteer to visit and befriend residents
- A Christingle service in January at Bedford Court led by St James’ church
The churches in our partnership take turns to lead the short services in Care Homes (currently Bedford Court and Horsforth Manor).
The time includes a short 30 minute service (a time of singing and a short reflection/devotion) followed by 30 minutes chatting with residents over a cuppa.

Each church is now given a 6 week time slot within which they can arrange mutually convenient dates with both care homes for when they will go in and run the services.

Bedford Court: 2pm
Horsforth Manor: 11 am or 2.30pm

Piano availability:
Bedford Court: a resident has a small organ, but probably best to take a keyboard
Horsforth Manor: No piano available
