There are many active groups, organisations, activities and volunteering opportunities here in Horsforth – here are some of those known to us at the moment:

We can always make good use of any surplus food from your business, kitchen, garden, allotment or events. Please get in touch via Facebook or just bring to the café on a Monday, Thanks!
Horsforth Community Cafe
Each Monday 10 am – 2pm volunteers use surplus food to make meals snacks and lunch on a pay as you feel basis, saving food from going into landfill. Surplus funds are given back to the community. Drinks and snacks from 10 am, lunch from 12 noon.
The cafe is open every Monday apart from 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year, 2 weeks at Easter, all Bank Holiday Mondays and during August.

Horsforth Climate Action
One of only a few in the country funded by the National Lottery for 3 years, Horsforth Climate Action Hub aims to take a variety of actions to help Horsforth and Leeds become carbon neutral and nature friendly by 2030. It includes groups taking action on food, nature, transport and schools, as well as a popular Repair Cafe every 1st Saturday of the month at St Margaret’s Parish Centre. The NL funding has now finished but the work continues!

Dementia Friendly Horsforth
Raising awareness of Dementia in Horsforth since 2015, including organising events, encouraging people to become Dementia Friends, and working with local agencies.

Fairtrade Horsforth
In 2015 Horsforth achieved its goal to become a Fairtrade Town!
This means that Fairtrade goods are sold in the community.
