More than 800 people gathered to sing together and enjoy a winter warmer drink and a mince pie on Saturday, enjoying the nice dry weather. The bandstand looked fantastic all lit up with fairy lights, thanks to the hard work of our volunteer light technicians!

As usual we had an all star cast for the Nativity in our Stable, including a lively donkey!

Phil Maud, from Churches Together, was the host of Carols in the Park, introducing six traditional festive favourites, including Away in a Manger, Once in Royal Davids City and Silent Night. Phil told the crowd a bit about the history of each of the carols, and shared about the Christmas story and the real meaning of Christmas for us all. The effective sound system carried his words and the music provided by the Stroke of Genius Band around the park and beyond.

MANY THANKS to all the 50 volunteers who acted as stewards, made drinks, bought mince pies, served refreshments, dressed up for the Nativity, sang and played the music, put up the lights and sound system and lots more besides – including our friends from Horsforth Town of Sanctuary! We all had a good time of fun and reflection!
