Horsforth Farmers’ Market is a well established and vibrant part of our community in Horsforth, not just bringing great local produce to our town and reducing transport miles, but also providing a hub for information-sharing from local organisations, regular access to town councillors, and great live music, plus games for the kids (and big kids)! The Horsforth Community Pantry opened its doors to members on Tuesday 02 July in a purpose-built shop and food store adjacent St James’ Woodside (Horsforth). Just one year after conversations between Nigel Sinclair and Jonathan Cain (the two vicars in the town), Claire Evans (the ABCD Community Builder for Horsforth) and local councillors, the Pantry opened to the delight of all involved. At this time in summer 2024 we want to stand with our friends from Woodside Methodist as they remember the closure of their beloved church, the last service being held there one year ago on 4th June 2023. It was a very sad time in the months before that day, as they went through the process of discussions in the Circuit, and the realisation that this would be the end of a long history of a worshipping community in the Low Lane/Outwood Lane area of Horsforth.
